WyHy Saves Members Missions
May 31, 2011
At the beginning of the year WyHy set a goal to save its members $1 million dollars in 2011!
WyHy met this goal and surpassed it in only five months. WyHy achieved this by working with
members to set up emergency savings plans, lower interest rates on auto and mortgage loans,
consolidating credit card debt, establishing retirement accounts and providing general
everyday savings tips. This goal allowed WyHy members to evaluate their personal budgets
and define their financial goals such as college education for their child(ren), purchasing
a home and retirement planning. WyHy looked at every possible way to reduce members'
current debt and begin an individualized savings program. WyHy officially saved its
membership $1,108,053.15 as of May 27! WyHy will continue to help its members identify
ways to save money and pad their pockets for years to come.
"This has been an incredible campaign for WyHy but more importantly we assisted our members with
starting a new journey of saving more, spending less and taking control of their financial
well-being," Bill Willingham, President/CEO. "The challenging economy has brought financial thrift
to the forefront of many consumers' minds. People are re-evaluating their financial picture and
retirement plans, finding ways to save, paying off their home sooner and WyHy is there every step
of the way. At WyHy it is our mission to allow our members to earn more, save more and spend less!
WyHy is thrilled with the outcome of the million dollar campaign promotion. This campaign defines
who we are as an institution and has made a substantial impact in our members' lives."
WyHy Awards Scholarship
May 2011
WyHy is pleased to announce the awarding of two $1500 scholarships. Rachel Winden, a 2011 graduate
of Cheyenne Central High School and Brandon Douglass of Casper, currently enrolled at UW are the

extracurricular activities and achievements, community involvement and financial need.

Education and French. While a student at Cheyenne Central H.S., Winden was heavily involved with
the Speech and Debate team and Interact academic club, holding several offices and a member of
the Science Olympiad. Douglass is currently attending the University of Wyoming studying Zoology
and Pre-Medicine. While a student at UW, Douglass has been a member of the UW Track and Field
team and awarded Mountain West Conference Scholar Athlete and Academic All-Mountain West Conference.

Pledging to Save Lives
December 2010
WyHy Federal Credit Union took community service and public awareness to a celebrity status! WyHy
teamed up with founding association group WYDOT (Wyoming Department of Transportation) and challenged
the county school districts to get as many students as possible to sign a life-long pledge, to
NEVER Text and Drive. The school with the most pledges won a free acoustic concert
from country-flavored pop and rock and roll artist Uncle Kracker.
Over 500 students pledged to NEVER Text and Drive in a four week period. Wyoming is one of only
28 states to enact a "DON'T TEXT AND DRIVE" campain and WYDOT markets this message to help increase
awareness across the state. "We are proud to partner with WYDOT and reach out to the youth in our
community and teach them the dangers of texting and driving," stated Bill Willingham, President/CEO of WyHy.
Uncle Kracker played for an hour for the winning school (Cheyenne East High School). Uncle Kracker
engaged with the students before and during the concert and sent a strong message when he discussed
a story about a family friend that became paralyzed by being hit by someone in a car that was
texting and driving. "This is something really important to be involved in. It seems so harmless
to sit in your car and text while you're driving, but I don't think people really get how dangerous
it really is" stated Uncle Kracker. And he hopes students in Cheyenne see past the concert, and take
the pledge seriously, "I mean if it isn't today, maybe its tomorrow. I just hope we're not the only
people trying to raise awareness." He encouraged people from all over to spread the word and not text and drive.
